I have hunted through the manuals but cannot find the recommended torque values for valve cover bolts. Anyone know what they are?

Bob, look in the front of the manual section 1-5 Under standard torque specs. I think the valve cover shoulder bolts are 6mm in diameter so 6-8 (lbft)is correct. A 1/4 drive socket wrench just snug is perfect.

The bolts should bottom out by design. There are two sizes of bolts, old 30mm long, and newer 35mm long. The old (shorter) will not bottom out on a newer camshaft housing (cambox).
