clutch cable

A few months ago (2) N600 showed up at the Monrovia Pick a Part. There was very little left on the cars but I managed to get some parts including (2) clutch cables. When I got them back the shop I realized they were both very short as compared to the ones on my cars.
Does anyone know if there are more than one length of clutch cable and which one is the preferred length?

Long and short work the same, I have interchanged them.

Mark is correct, one (the long one) goes over and under the fan housing, the (short one) goes along the drivers side of the fan housing and

Thanks for the info. I now have (4) usable clutch cables and the short ones have boots in good condition.

I like the short cable: Less chance to get sliced by the fan pulley, and easier to install. To me seem
to give a more direct feel for the clutch. They came on early sedans.

My (2) 70/71 N's have long cables. One car still has it's original engine(matching numbers). The (2) I found at the bone yard were the same year cars with short cables. No chrome strip on the side.

If you have the 1972 August Honda Parts manual for the sedan there are 4 parts numbers listed for the clutch cable.  The cable listed as part number 22910-623-671 is the last cable in the sedan parts manual and the only number listed in the 1977 October Honda parts manual for the Coupe.
Which means that all Honda 600's built after April 1971 use the same clutch cable.
I have used the short and the long cable on early and late model cars with no problems.
