Hi, and where's the oil dip stick? (New owner)

Post by mruane_cnet »

Hi folks,
Glad I found you! Just picked up a 72 z600 earlier today, and hope
this doesn't sound too stupid, but I can't seem to locate the dip
stick.
I would consider myself competent around a motor, but honda 600s are
new to me and I'm lost here.
Thanks!

Thanks so much, Bill and Jose... And suddenly I don't feel as stupid.
The car is without a battery tie-down, and the entire visible portion
of the dipstick was sandwhiched between the battery and it's tray.
Thanks again for the quick responses!

Hi Mike;
Note of caution, tie your battery down or the fan pulleys will chew a
hole in the side of the battery and cause acid to drip down onto your
starter and then, you will need a tie down for your New battery and maybe
even a new starter.
