What type of Weatherstrip can i use on the rear hatch of my
72 Z 600

Hi there Riceburner;
I have them made for my Coupes and as Yahoo does not allow JPEG's to be
sent over the group I sent an answer to him outside the group. Would you
like to see it on the Coupe?

Hello Bill! Yes I would like to see it. At first I thought the hatch
could be adjusted to seal better,but it didn't work! riceburner006

Hello all. Does anyone know of some cheap weatherstripping I can use for my driver and passenger door?
I need something that will fit but won't cost an arm and a leg, since I'm on a college budget.

This is a push on weather strip that comes in a roll enough to do one door. It has to be crimped (no glue) and looks/works well. Also lasts a long time. CR Laurence may even have a store local to you. And, if you use a universal foam weather strip from Home Depot for the bottom area where the plastic trim runs along the bottom inside of the body/door opening there might be enough to do both doors. You will have to measure as over the years prices go up and lengths on the roll go down. URL below is the weather stripping. To crimp the weather strip I use a wide blade sheet metal vice grip. (see the second url) for about $12.00.

Check out what is left of the weather stripping on your 600. Measure the length needed, the thickness, and how far the weather stripping overlaps the inside and outside of the door opening. Now go to a wrecking yard and find a car that is a fair match and check to see if that part is still available. You'll have to shorten anything you order, but that's no problem. The main thing is thickness. I just put Honda OEM weather stripping on the passenger side of my 600 sedan and it is too thick. I've had to trim back some the stripping and still the door is hard to open. It shuts great, but a lot of pressure is needed to push in the door button. I wish that I had done what I suggest you do and will for the driver's side.

Model FLD 120 Freightliner from about 1990 to 2000 works great and is cheap
