I have just failed a warrent of fitness inspection, with the fault
being the front suspension, and likely the top part where fitting to
the body, to much side ways movement.
I know in the past there has been some disscussion regarding the
rear struts.
But are there any replacements for these, Or can the units be
reconditioned. It may be, as it is hard to determine, loosesness
where the attachement to the body, or maybe where the shaft comes
out of the strut, worn seals or something? there is no leaking
though.
I am a little lost on this one, and so therefore anted to post this
question before taking things apart.
Does anyone have a parts list or parts needed to recondition if
needed.
Or maybe the testing station is talking crap, and a little movement
is just a trait of these cars?
Regards to you all

Re: Front suspension.
---Quentin,
If the strut is only loose at the top, then it is quite possible
that the damper rod washer, bushing, and thrust washer are worn.
Thats my guess. If you want a rebuilt strut, I believe Bill Colford
can probably direct you to the right place, and or how to rebuild it.

Re: Front suspension.
If we are talking about the Honda 600, there are only front struts, the rear
are shocks. I have been using the front shocks from a VW with ball joints
1969 through 1972. You have to hammer the body joint under the rear wheel
housing to keep them from rubbing, and grind the lower mount in a bit to
allow the nut and washer to fit properly. But it will take all the sway out
of the rear and front.

Re: Front suspension.
I am talking about the front suspension, is there any way of mainting the original shocks, on the front of the car that is? do you have large scale part breakdown of this unit,
