I have a 71 AZ600 that the drivers side rear wheel keeps locking up on
because of the brakes. If I bleed it it will be okay for a while and
lock up again. Is this a master cylinder problem? Also, where can I
find a big rubber gasket for my carb? The one in there now has a rip.

Hi Bill;
The left rear wheel cylinder is locking up (really they both are but
Honda only gave you one bleed screw) is normally the rear section (forward
of the two outlets) on the master cylinder, the bleed back hole. Remove the
master (caution: you want to wash your hands and use lacquer thinner to
clean the cylinder, and dry it with compressed air) cylinder, drain the
fluid, open the end and remove the pistons (have a small bowl of brake
fluid) to keep the pistons in. Then remove the hose coming from the
reservoir for the front inlet and the hose fitting. There will be two small
holes, make sure both are free. Caution: Don't make either larger, use a
needle or Very Small drill bit and with your hand open it. Clean the
cylinder and reinstall all the parts in reverse of the way you removed them.
