compression tester

Can anyone recommend a make and model of compression tester?  Preferably one that screws into the spark plug hole and retains the reading after cranking.  Also, what is a "good" reading to expect?

The reading should be in the range of 160 psi.  It is desirable to have each cylinder within a couple psi of each other.  You can buy those compression testers at any auto parts store or Sears or SnapOn.  When I bought mine,  I looked for the tubing to be rugged enough to hold up to the twisting and untwisting which occurs when the tester is connected.  I must have been lucky since mine has been working for over 20 years.  I think I bought mine at Shuck's Auto Parts.

Hi Steven;
I purchased my compression tester from Sears, it has a quick
disconnect and will fit either large or small plug sizes.
