Hi everyone. Just bought a n600 and discovered the reverse doesn't work, namely,
the car wants to jump forward when its in reverse. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Any info appreciated,
Thanks,
Kevin (LA, CA)

reverse dont work....
choke and rpm issues
Hi there,
I recently bought a 600 and am learning about it. Confused: It starts right up but stalls at every stop for about a mile. Pulling the choke doesn't help. After it warms up a bit it doesn't stall but after I drive it for about 25 minutes around town, the rpms are too high when I come to a stop.. What seems to be the trouble?

Re: choke and rpm issues
A fuel filter would keep crud out, though wouldn't it?

Re: choke and rpm issues
yes, A fuel filter will keep it out of the carb...but when I got the car, with the old filter on it, what ever made it through the old filter, is already in the carb...so it will now need the carb taken off and cleaned out...along with a new filter as well. Are gaskets for the carb available?

carb gaskets?
I would think so somewhere. Like it is with any old car: you have to search around...

Re: reverse dont work....
For the reverse gear; Check the pin connecting the shift shaft (in the engine) to the U-joint on the shifter. If it is a bolt or something sitcking out side the u-joint collar then it is hitting the seal keeper and preventing the shift shaft from going in far enough to go into reverse.

Re: reverse dont work....
Bill, thanks for your help, that sounds like the source of the problem...I have to wiggle it
and sometimes it engages (but most times it doesn't). Good thing its only 1300 lb and I can just push it back ;)
