Carburetor Help

Hi All,
There have been several concerns lately about carburetor problems. We have cars that are
over 30 years old. Even though Honda made an excellent little car it is most likely that it
wasn't designed to last this long. Gasoline is very different from what it was when the cars
were new. There is alcohol in many fuels now as well as other additives that love to absorb
moisture from the air. Since most fuel tanks today are made of plastic the fuel makers are not
concerned with this problem. The rust issue in our fuel tanks is obvious. Even with a new fuel
filter in place the rust particles are small enough to pass through into the carburetor and
start clogging the passages and jets. Sort of like the commercial for Plavix (sp). No, I don't
make anything from them!
The short of this is that we end up with all kinds of wierd run problems. The solution is
relatively simple. The carburetor needs to be overhauled. After almost 40 years in the
business I know that while it is tempting to attempt some sort of simple "clean this hole" it is
a big waste of time and frustrating as well. Just bite the bullet and take care of it once and for
all.
I have put together all of the parts needed to properly overhaul the carburetor if you wish to
do it yourself, or I can do it for you if you wish. Check out my eBay sales of parts. They're

Hi Bruce,
Is it possible to have the fuel tank "lined" with plastic of sorts to
prevent rust problems?

Tom,yes you can get a tank relined with the "RENU" process. It's
expensive,(over $100),And permanent.You can search renu gas tanks on
the web.
