Hi,
I recently started hunting for rust in my sedan and
noticed that a lot of it started to attack areas underneath
this material (tar??) that covers the floor of the car.
My question is, what is that stuff and how do i replace
it (do i even need to?). What is the function of this
covering, dampens vibrations/noise? Anyway,

There is a website I stumbled upon called www.b-quiet.com. They
carry a wide array of sound deadening material that I plan to use on
AZ600 coupe when I replace the carpet this Spring. I have a friend
who used some of their products in his Honda and claims it to be
fabulous.
I would also look into the Eastwood catalogue as they have some good
products for rust removal, prevention, and treatment. Good luck!
