chick magnets

Post by zinc2u »

I see where Bill C. refers to these cars as chick magnets.   In all the years I have had these cars,  the one constant has always been that teenage girls love these cars.  I am constantly hearing them say "your car is sooo cute".  Too bad they don't feel the same way when they get older.
I took an orange coupe to the drag races last year and thought I might get some preferred parking at the front where they let people with vintage cars park.  No such luck,  I had to park in the back with everyone else.  I guess the car did not fit in with the Cobras and American muscle cars which were in the vintage area.  But while I waited in line to park,  I had lots of teenage girls tell me how cute my car was.
And when I am on the freeway with these little cars and I see a distracted driver in their muscle car poking along in their lane and I decide to pass them,  when they look over and see my car,  I get left in the dust every time.
I just don't get any respect from my fellow drivers,
Dale

Dale, As an orange Coupe owner, you already have three babes, Tammy, Michelle and Allison.
Ok, trivia time, what does it mean, and where did you see it?

I purchased a little N600 about a year ago and got it running briefly before dismanteling it for paint and many other things.  In my neighborhood there are an abundance of hot rod builders in their 40'd and 50's and normally when one of the sees the little car for the first time they all tend to ask the same two questions.
1..What the hell is is?
2.  Wanna sell it?
I'm sure once it's complete it will draw more attention that many of the souped up hot rods in town which probably won't set well with some of the guys that have 30K or better in their toys.

It's been a while since I drove my coupe,as it's been going through an extensive custom restoration,(enclosed photo). But I do drive one of my customers 600 coupe around and it seems to be loved by everyone, even the hotrodders. But when people look and point I realize that there are two different kind of people pointing and smiling-- those that have never seen one before, and those that haven't seen one in 20 or 30 years. But I am used to that anyway as I generally only drive unique classics.  My daily driver is a 70 Opel Gt,and my truck is a 70 Ranchero, and I also have a collection of old VWs,and do drive an C3 Corvette, but I actually hate that one.But someday my coupe will be back on the road if I can ever find the time to finish it.   Brad From:

I know what you mean about the Vette, just sold mine and probably don't ever care to own another. Can you tell me about the wheels on your coupe?  I've been looking for some aluminum wheels for my sedan.  I think some of the Honda 4-wheelers have the same bolt patter, just curious if they are strong enough not that the 600's weigh much.
