Z600 mirrors?

Post by kevin.gailey »

I have asked this question before without an answer, but is there a rear view mirror from another Honda or other car that will snap into the swivel ball thing of a Z600? I appreciate any help, driving without the mirror kind of sucks!

Hey Kevin,
Don't think I can offer much help on your original question but I came across this while browsing ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-60 ... USED-N600- _W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5d28dccc94QQitemZ400117517460QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_500wt_948
If you already have the housing for the ball, it's a go!
Good luck

I was looking at part numbers a while back online and found one website actually showed the part number for the rear view mirror on Z600 superceding to the first gen civic mirror part number. Not sure how much easier those are to come by but at least gives you better chance of finding a civic at a junkyard than a Z.

88140-623-670 is original Z mirror part number which changes to 88140-623-622 which is listed as civic eb1. The honda online parts places shows it as being available but I would call the dealer to make sure its not on backorder.

While we are on the subject of mirrors, I was wondering if a right side mirror was available anywhere to fit my Coupe? A factory style one. I would assume that a right hand drive would have come with one,,unless they came with fender mirrors.

The Civic mirror and bracket does fit (fits the sedan too).  Downside is it's wider than original, and the mirror must pivot to move the visors down & up.
While you're at the junkyard, be sure to collect the window cranks, amber turn signal lenses, overhead console with clock (an option on early Civics), the red wheelcaps (repaint them black), wheel cylinders and ???
