New Ground Cable
I bought a new ground cable for my coupe. It's a coated cable. It bolts nicely to the engine, and I was going to carve away a strip of the coating for the chassis ground clamp. It did come with a smaller wire coming off the battery clamp that fits a bullet terminal. Would this smaller gauge wire be sufficient to ground the chassis? Aren't the heavy load items grounded through the engine?

Most engines normally use a 4 to 8 gauge wire for ground as it does carry the load of the starter and alternator, and the body carries the obvious items such as lights and heater motor etc... So they should be OK with a ten or twelve gauge wire. But it wouldn't hurt to ad an extra ground made of a ten gauge wire from engine or battery to body.
