My suggestion if you decide to use the cut to fit method, buy TWO wiper blades that are 10 inches or longer. And here is why ....... each wiper blade has one compression clip which holds the blade to the arm. If attempt to cut a super long blade into two blades, you still have only one NEW compression clip.
You will need TWO clips..... one for each blade. If you attempt to use an old clip, you may find it does not fit on the new blade or it has lost some of its spring and doesn't hold the clip in place very well and could come off just when you need it the most. Why take the chance on your safety.
If you can't find the 10 or 11 inch blade, buy a 12 inch blade (these are readily available) and try it. If you like the way it wipes, you don't have to do anything. When I tried a 12 inch, it was hitting the windshield gasket during its motion.
good luck,
Dale
