I am referring to the rubber grommet where the wire harness from the engine bay enters the cabin.
I need to move this grommet temporarily out of the way to route a oil temp gauge cable through this access hole.
Does anyone know if this rubber grommet gets pushed into the engine bay area or gets pushed from the engine bay area into the interior of the car.
Its very stiff and doesn't want to move either direction!
I going to look at the shop manual and parts catalog for more details.
Thanks for any info.

Re: 72 Coupe Wire harness "Grommet" Info
Got it! The grommet pushes out into the engine bay area. I figured that to keep out any water that might get into the engine bay, that the lip would be fatter on the engine side and slightly smaller diameter on the inside / cabin side.
Nice big hole to put cables!
