Our loyal Amphicar nuts are planning a Delta Run over Memorial Day weekend, with the final gathering spot in Rio Vista, for transport across the river on the twin ferries, and a levy run up to Sacramento.
There has been some scouting out of places to stay in Sacramento. I would like feed back as to whether we want to locate a motel or the like in Rio Vista for the first night, and a separate overnight spot in Sacramento. I prefer to not unpack twice, but there is a lot to be said for visiting the train museum on day one, playing in the water in the Rio Vista/Isleton area the rest of the first day, and then the leisurely drive going up to Sacramento. Dinner in Locke the first night? Al the WOPS? (Look it up. Never been there.)
Also note that the Brills will be hosting the second annual Arcane Carmel Apple bar b que on August 13, following the Salinas to Carmel by the Sea tour and Pebble Beach cars on Ocean Avenue. It is never too early to plan for accommodations... and might even be a little late.
Paul Cowden and Chuck Levine are looking into a camp out in the Petaluma area, with two lane road drives and a run into Sebastapol. Let me know if you would be interested?
