Re: muffler
FYI, when I was actively driving my AZ600 (early to late 1970's), I replaced the factory muffler with a generic one from NAPA because the Honda part cost about 4 times the NAPA. Dimensions were good; car ran quietly. But it had absolutely NO power. I gave it a complete tune-up, plugs/points/condenser/air filter/oil change... nothing would make it run well again. (I wonder what a new coil and plug wires might have done for it? But it was running ok before I changed the muffler.) After suffering with it a couple years, I donated the car to the local junior college's auto-mechanics program. Later I got involved with vintage motorcycles and learned that exhaust systems must be matched to carburetor-jetting. I wondered if the NAPA muffler had hindered performance of that little 600cc motor.

Re: muffler
Years ago before I discovered this group and had no thought that I could actually GET parts for the sedan I went down to Midas muffler and they pulled a little 12" glass pack out of stock and made me a nice exhaust from scratch- just the last two bends and then out the rear. It sounds fantastic and runs as good or better than stock. Wasn't much, maybe $60. We like it but it's NOT stock.

Re: muffler
In 72 I had a glass pack on and seemed to have more power. The one I have now I tried a muffler from a motor home generator but seemed to lack power so I put a glass pack on with more power... I think the motor home one was just to restrictive at higher speeds

Re: [EXT] [anzhonda600owners] muffler
Check out this You Tube video.
It's a FLO-PRO 3300 MUFFLER TURBO PACK .
I used this muffler on my 70 sedan, with the stock pipe. It works & sounds great. The total cost was around $110. Installed.
