If you have a GPS do a top speed run with that.   I'm really impressed by your speeds and would love to see it on a GPS if possible as well.  Ill do a run this weekend on a GPS and post results

you can see the pictures I've taken here. You don't have to believe me. I don't need approval just wanted to share that intake and exhaust upgrades could be done inexpensively. I think removing that belt driven fan for the electric radiator fan has been the best improvement to acceleration. I'll take a picture of the Infrared thermometer next time so you guys can see the temp off the block. I use my Z on the weekends and an electric mountain bike as a daily commuter. The bike is capable of 35mph on electric power alone. But I don't normally keep it at top speed as that greatly diminishes range of the Lithium battery. There's a video of a Z600 on youtube that was converted to electric drive. That is the reason I bought the Z in the first place, but batteries are still too expensive. In the meantime I'll enjoy the almost 40mpg I'm getting from the 2cyl engine.

I've improved my 0--60 mph time. I can now do 0-63 mph in the same 1/4 mile shifting @ 6200 rpm.  Synthetic oil gave me almost 2 more MPH.   GPS Video @ 11.

Hi Bill, your right the cam, point float, and just lack of HP to push the weight/frontal area any faster. I do have my electronic ignition, so no point float. Living in Florida we have really flat roads and I tested both directions. 78mph one way about 80 the other way. This is using the Honda speedometer and tach as indicated, probably not true readings. This matches what the road tests back in 1972 wrote. On a down hill run probably faster but the crank and timing chain is so weak I don't like to push it past 6,000 rpm's under load. 4-5mph is a lot of gain when we only have 36HP to start with.
Gabriel did some simple and clever modifications I like them. I just don't think 95mph and over 7,600 rpm's is possible with a stock motor.
We should ask the racing Honda guy, he runs a heavily modified Honda Z at the salt flats. What is his name?
So when Mark does his "high speed" run it has to be on level ground, GPS and video recorded.

Hi Mark I love your video's. But, it looks like you rolled your 1/4 mile start! You should run it again, straight line 1/4 mile. Leave at about 3,000rpm a little tire squeak and shift at about 6,200-6,300. I think you could get close to 60mph and 20 seconds. That's about what I can do with my stock Coupe.
You have plenty of time to hit the stop watch, look at the speedometer and the tach, change the radio station and check the camera.
Or take it to your local drag racing track, the crowd would love it!
