75 mph is close or past redline in 4th depending on tire size.
95 mph has to be roughly 9000 rpm in 4th
I dunno for sure , but doubtful

Thats what i was thinking. I've had mine up to 75 on the speedo on the freeway and i was redlined at 6k. i couldn't imagine taking it any further than the 6k in 4th gear. i haven't compared my speedo to a GPS yet but plan on doing so next week.

Did a high speed run today! I have a stock 1972 coupe restored and rebuilt as close to original as possible. Test run was on level ground, no wind, stock tires 30psi F, 25psi R. Accelerated to 6,200 in 3 gears (not too exciting) then waited for about 35 seconds to see a top speed of 78-79mph and 6,300rpms. Held it wide open and it wouldn't go any faster. I have been racing for years so I love calculating gear ratio's and tire diameters.
Stock tires 19.1" in diameter = 60"/rev.
12.45mph/1,000rpm
Total gear ratio 4.60:1
Engine 4,850 at 60mph, axle 1,050rpm.
So 95mph = 7,630rpm
That is a 22% increase in speed/power.
Sorry but changing the air filter and a muffler is not going to get that increase.
Prove me wrong.

Good test, I had one of mine up to 7K rpm's and then went past the power curve (the points floated) the engine stopped running until it got to about 5500 rpm's and started back up. I did this three times and had the same results. The gears were like new, the pistons were .50 over the rockers and cam and all internals were like new or measured to new spec. But I was running mag rims 5in wide which brought it about 12 pounds lighter in unsprung weight. All else was stock.

you can see the pictures I've taken here. You don't have to believe me. I don't need approval just wanted to share that intake and exhaust upgrades could be done inexpensively. I think removing that belt driven fan for the electric radiator fan has been the best improvement to acceleration. I'll take a picture of the Infrared thermometer next time so you guys can see the temp off the block. I use my Z on the weekends and an electric mountain bike as a daily commuter. The bike is capable of 35mph on electric power alone. But I don't normally keep it at top speed as that greatly diminishes range of the Lithium battery. There's a video of a Z600 on youtube that was converted to electric drive. That is the reason I bought the Z in the first place, but batteries are still too expensive. In the meantime I'll enjoy the almost 40mpg I'm getting from the 2cyl engine.
