Miles is right, the wires can be changed out. I have taken a
different approach. Try this, grind a scribe or other really thin
tool steel 4 inch long shaft into a knife and cut the old wire out of
the coil, (cutting it out is no more than poking it down along the
old wire then use a needle nose plyer and pull the old wire out).
Then use 8mm-carbon core wire with the fixed ends. The trick here
is to strip back about 3/4 inch of insulation and fold the core up
along side the wire and then screw it into the wire hole. Before you
seal the wire up use a meter to check and make sure the wire made a
good connection. Then use RTV and seal it up.
Carbon Core wire is far superior to wire and a good analogy would
be if you held a garden hose full flow with out a nozzle it will go
about two feet out, now put the nozzle on it and it will shoot it
across the street. Using carbon core wire is much the same as
putting a nozzle on your coil, it will make your spark hotter and
combustion cleaner. I have changed out quite a number with no
problems resulting to the coil using the carbon core wire.
