RX-7 wheel weight

A stock RX-7 aluminum wheel weighs 12 pounds.

20 Pounds different on 4 wheels not including tires. Is a lot of extra weight
for the 600 to drag?

The RX-7 "X" cross wheels are the only wheels I came across in my original search at the junkyard.
(See pictures in yahoogroups)
I've noticed over the years, that there was also a second type of wheel
used on the first model RX-7. I actually think that type of wheel looks a lot better
than the X-type. I have no idea how much the alternate wheel type weighs.
FYI, I have attached a photo of an RX-7 with the better looking type of wheel in the
yahoogroups photos RX-7 wheels folder.

Yes, but I will bet there are lighter ones.

Hi Dave;
If you look at the Pride and Joy folder in the photo albums section of
the ANZHonda600owners group the green Coupe sporting the wide rims are also
from a RX-7, and were much lighter than the stock rims, although with the
tires were still heavy for the car.
