Honda 600 coupe factory parts list book

There is a Honda 600 coupe factory parts list book for sale on eBay right now. My original plan was - buy it, scan it, make a pdf of it and post it for downloading on my website, for the use of the group. However the price has gotten out of hand - it'll probably sell for about $75.
If anyone has one and can part with it for a week or two, let me know. I will create a pdf and upload it for all, then ship it back to you. It'll be a big file, but what the heck.
My feeling is, documents like this are too rare, and really need to be more readily available for those (interested, nuts, brave) enough to want to own and maintain a 600.

I've got one for the sedan I could lend you. The coupe one was the first I'd seen in a long time.
My (crazy) goal was to create a database of the key parts as an interchange guide.

The sedan and the coupe are supposed to be almost identical,
mechanically, so I would like to take a shot at scanning it in.
Write me offlist at stevenm@.... Regarding your database,
the other lister was at least partially correct about
www.torringtonhondaparts.com; they have wuite a list of parts,
complete with smallish diagrams and part numbers. HOWEVER, I don't
know if their list is complete, or only has stuff they can get
(somehow) or what.

Hi Steven;
No Steven, the Sedan and Coupe are not the same in many mechanical areas
when viewed with the early sedans and late Coupes. Many parts do not cross
over and this is the area many hobbyists find themselves in trouble. All
the parts for both Sedan and Coupe are directly related to the Chassis,
engine and date of manufacture numbers on your vehicle. This is why so many
people using only the Haynes manual have problems. The factory manuals give
many of the number to parts relationships but even then experience with the
aluminum casings and bolt thread depth along with proper torque and
knowledge Honda's tools will assist in keeping your Honda 600 running for a
long time.

you'd think they would have tried to make them the same for money saving reasons, and since i wasnt helping them maybe they did. hoever you can always look at cars new or old and wonder why they didnt try to use the same stuff more, as many are doing today. you can use the same smaller pieces and mechanical stuff and still have unique cars.
in honda 600s since it was their fist cars here they might should have used more of teh sam.
to make a loooong story shourt i didnt know that and am glad you told us.

Well;
Heck, when you pull an engine apart and see that some one who just
didn't know puts a new crank shaft in an engine and does not replace the
slipper or rework the slipper holding pin cut outs so it will stay in place
and it slips into the engine, is chewed up by the cam chain and crankshaft
timing gear. The small metal chips flow freely into the bearings and away
goes a new crankshaft. Or better yet, they change the slipper and lower
rollers and center roller, do a valve job and never touch the lower end and
leave the stretched cam chain only to have it break and destroy the valves
damage the pistons and weld the cam shaft to the end caps. I could go on,
but this is where all the new parts have gone. I could go on but I don't
want to make anyone sick.
This is why I will answer all your questions and talk on the phone until
my wife threatens to ... to my toys. There are not enough parts available
to keep these small ones on the street if we don't talk to each other and
share knowledge. Even the most simple tools can ruin an engine if not used
correctly. A 6mm bolt is torqued to 90 inch pounds, not 35 pounds. Start
all nuts and bolts by hand and turn them in as far as you can by hand, then
walk them in until a torque wrench is necessary. Air tools are nice and
what a great job they do of twisting bolts and nuts right off. But used
wisely will make most jobs easier.
But again my toys are being threatened so I have to hang up the phone.

golly your missing out. to think some one does something the way its supposed to be done. HAHHA
just kidding, thats why im trying to learn everything so i dont have to ask anyone. the world sucks cause of no pride and half ass. to thnk im 29 and look what all i have to look forward to.
ok well the ones that do it correctly will get there satisfaction when the ones that can tell let them know once every ten years.
