Engine slap, something else or just noisy? was theoretical redline

For a long while I have been pondering (but not actually doing anything
about)
what I perceive as a possible problem with the engine in my Coupe. I
understand that the 600 has a "noisy engine" but I am not entirely sure mine
is "right". Please download, set to loop, turn up the volume, and listen to
this sound...and let me know how it compares to your engine. This sound
was recorded with Coupe in 3rd gear, the tach about 3k,
first two seconds with my foot on the gas, then two seconds coasting,
foot off the gas.

.......When beating these motors the first
thing I noticed is piston slap,due to piston skirt/bore wear. You
know you have a fresh motor if its quiet.....

Make sure that the heat exchanger fins are not rattling. You might
have to swedge something in them to tighten them up on exhaust pipe.
I have had this problem with mine before. You might make sure that
the fan housing is tight and has all 4 bolts securing it.

Right on! Hey Robert I expierienced the problem with the heat-X-
changer before. I run my car W/O blower or hoses hooked up and once
I loosened up the aluminum fins inside! Riceburner006
