If somebody in the St Louis area has interest, I have a 72 600 Sedan
for sale, $100 obo would take it away.
The good: I can't remember the milage, but it's fairly low, about
50k, motor runs pretty good when it is started once a year with a
fresh battery, carb is in good shape no leaks holds nice idle, trans
shifts very nicely, clutch grabbed well, all window glass is solid,
six straight 10" rims altogether, original washer squirter still
works, original onwers manual in good shape.
The bad: body is rough got beat around by some non-appreciaters,
exhaust has leak that cooked the master cylinder so no brakes, not
charging (I never looked into it, it used to hold a charge, then
after about a year of sitting, it would not charge any more),
original fuel pump is gone (replaced with good after market), rear
wheels cylinders have froze up, so rolling it around is difficult (I
have been able to drive it around the yard dragging the rear wheels
before haven't tried in a while), interior has just a few good
components, most are probably no good, title got lost over the 4
years of being parked.
I would probably be piecing this car together just well enough to
play with on the street if I could find that title again, as it runs
reaaly good even after sitting for year between starts. It was very
drivable around the yard (using the parking brake only) when I got
it, really only needed a master cylinder and some exhaust work, and
without time and money it slowly decayed to it's current state. This
would be an excellent canditate to take the engine/tranny out of,
runs strong, good compression.
If anybody has any interest in this one, let me know, and we'll get
something worked out. Getting it out of the yard at this point would
be great!!! It needs to go towards making another 600 live again,
and I don't have the time or the means to do that...
