New to group

Hello everyone,
My name is Chris Benton, I'm new to this group and
wanted to introduce myself and my reasons for joining.
I'm on my 4th Honda. I've owned an '83 Accord
hatchback, an '87 Accord hatchback, a '90 Civic sedan,
and now curently have a '00 Passport (although the
Passport is technically an Isuzu wearing the Honda
name). WIth exception to a clutch replacement, trans
replacement, and a couple of timing belt replacements,
I performed all of the maintenance on these vehicles.
For several years now, I've wanted to restore a
classic/vintage automobile. I figured that I should
consider my loyalty to Honda and look into something
around my year of birth, 1967.
Can anyone here give me some advise on where to start
looking for a good model of 1967 Honda to restore?
Did Honda import many cars to the US in 1967? If so,
were they mostly on the West coast or spread
throughout the states?

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the group!  This is definately the place to be if you are planning to own and restore a Honda 600!
As far as I know there were no Honda cars sold to the US market before 1970.  There were 360cc versions of the sedan, and a four-cylinder convertible (S600) sold in Japan and elsewhere as early as 1964 (?), but not here.  See this page for a US sales timeline...

Yes, it does seem sometimes like there are more 600s on the west coast than anywhere else.  Since you are in Atlanta, you ought to write Mike O'Connor in North Carolina as he often has a 600 or two to sell...

Agreed.  I'd also like to point out that there are a few s800's available from the years your specify, but they are rather difficult to find.  You can probably get a Honda from 1967 imported, but it won't be cheap.  If you want to do this, I'd recommend you talk to Paul at
