Question about float height in Z600 carb.

Post by Ray »

Ok,
I believe that I may have another lead: is the height of the float when
it is sideways suppsosed to be 20.5mm. This is what it says in the
clymer's manual that I have. I'll check it again tommorow, Rained all
day today. I believe that I have it set to 25mm, I believe that I
misread the scale. Would that cause the stalling problems? Also, When
hanging sideways the floats are at an angle with the bottom of the
bowl. When measuring the floats along the mark at the top of the main
housing, do I measure at the center line of this mark, or do I measure
at the lowest point of the floats. Do I need to bend the floats in
order to get a more flat profile in relation to the bottom of the
bowl / main body housing?
I hope that that makes sense.
Thanks in advance,
KC

There is a center mark on the housing, bend the tangs just above the hing
pin so the floats are level with the base at the mark. Don't allow the
floats to bang the needle valve into it's seat. After you get it all
together and on the engine, make sure you have a good O ring on the selenoid
(around the pin housing) Also I am attaching a file that won't get to the
group, but you should receive it. Are you missing "F" in the picture?
