honda 600 sedan engine

i am currently rebuilding the engine in my 600 sedan,i have polished
many parts of the engine to a chrome like finish,my question is can i
paint some of the external engine parts with engine paint,without
affecting its cooling

Painting the aluminum is not a problem, polishing on the other hand causes
the air to slip over the fins and not cool the cylinders. So to answer your
question, polishing is more harmful than painting.
