My N600 resto-mod

Post by Cc »

Originally the plan was to swap in a D16a1 and keep it front wheel drive. That turned out
to be a big hassle because the engine bay is a very odd shape in the n600. To maximize
space under the hood i made a fiberglass mold of the front end. This took a few trys to
get right, and its still not finished. The first body i had was a total peace of crap, you can
see in the pictures just how much was left after cutting out the bad metal. It was buried in
the sand in North carolina, drowned flooded countless times and eaten away by the salt
water. I was able to find another body cheep. That saved me thousands of hours of metal
work.
I changed the project around after giving up on the D16, Now i have a VFR750f a V4
honda sport-bike engine fro the 90s. It will be rear wheel drive using the rear end from an
MG midget.
Rear suspension will be the stock leaf-springs with an extra leaf for a stiffer spring rate.
The front suspension will use the hub from a G1teg, and home made control arms, linked
into the n600 sway bar.
Here is a video from last week after I got it rolling for the first time.

The pictures can do a better job at explaining the rest.

I love that you're using VX rims (or are they HX?) on that thing.  They look MASSIVE on that little car.
