Re: how to contact K & N
Hi
I made a mistake it is not "K & N" thats the air filter people for motorcycles and cars my blow it SORRY !
it's "K & L" they sell after market parts for the motorcycle industry Damm it I get those 2 "k's" mixed up. They will not sell to you direct you would have to go to a motorcycle shop that has a "K & L " distributor ( most do call and ask) or there are out lets
through the internet but they try to really jack the price up
I made the statement that that 600's were designed from a 1968 honda 450 CB motorcycle and that some things were the same WRONG statement TO MAKE! I was hit with "You have no clue what you are talking about nothing is the same" ok so I will leave it at that I do not want to cause any trouble so I will type in some #'s and this is on the premise that I do not know what I am talking about OK! and if you are crazy enough to listen to it than it is your fault!!!!
This is K & L dealer book info for 2007 for page # and part # the best way to access this with out a problem is find a "After Market motorcycle Accessories shop" They will be (or should be) willing to just hand you the catalog and pick out what you want to order.
page #219 is your "Keihin carb" O-Ring page these will be the what you will want to replace the idle & main jet, needle & seat
o-ring (where the fuel comes into the float bowl) the passage plug (idle circut) the one for accelerator pump passage between
carb body and float bowl. I do not know which ones are what I just have em all and pick them out as I need them you will have to use some cheap dial calipers to get a close measurement to know witch pack to order. there small like "004.00X1.00" They will be very hard and will break when you try to remove them kinda sorta measure em while on the jet and you will know the size
close enough, use grease when installing these
page 238 Idle and main jets (for early CB honda 450 remember I do not know what I am talking about) it is good to change these as over time they get bigger from molecular friction where (Thats a good term) and depending where you live like me @
4,500 feet you will want to jet down 1 step on the main
page 244 tune up kit I am not totally for sure on this one take your old points in and match em up if they are not write it will be a restocking fee but ask about this first check page 246 for individual unit
Page 242 secondary coils (Very Good) go to accel home page for better info but order through bike shop order "Points twin type"
you can go to K & N with the dimensions and they will tell you the K & L part # to order for air filter
oil filter i think is a "KN-401" not sure measure old one or clean it and take it in
page 151 for cam chain #12-8116 master link #12-0409 but the K&L chains are not as good as the "RK" timing chain that part
# 259826 (description) "BFO5MX 128 cam" and you would have to order a master link separate as these are endless chain but you gota cut it to install it any way but they will not offer a master link for it so use the master link #12-0409 or Honda # 14410-283-000 from the honda bike shop ask if they can order "RK timing chain"
wow that was a mouth full Ya know the front break pads are the same as honda motorcycles take one in and they will match it up right there also you can get caliper rebuild kits that match If you have the time you can measure and match
master cylinder rebuild kits but I just like putting a master cylinder from a 1993 chevy GEO you have to do a little adapting and some grinding but it's cheep get one at the junk yard with fluid container for $15.00
OK SO REMEMBER NONE OF THIS IS CORRECT IT IS ALL LIES THERE IS NO CROSS OVER FROM A MOTORCYCLE, I DO NOT KNOW
WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!! IT IS JUST WISH FULL THINKING, IT WILL NEVER WORK
GOOD LUCK

Re: how to contact aliens
I was going to post about your CB450 comments. When I worked for
Rick's Honda Salvage in 1979-81 I used to compare the N/Z600 parts to
the motorcycle stuff.
You are partially correct with some comments. I wanted to install the
twin cam head on to the N600 but the spacing was way off. The CB500K
(2 cylinder twin cam) pistons would fit except they are the wrong
height, that is to say the wrist pin is in the wrong place but the
wrist pin is the correct diameter but too short.
The cam chain from a CB450 can be cut down to fit the N600. The motor
oil might be the same ! A company called Powroll used to make hot
cams for bikes and Honda 600's. The problem with them was they were
just ground down, not rewelded then ground and you had to use lash
caps which could pop off.
If you get the after market cam chain get one which is endless loop
if you are starting with bare cases. It is 108 links. If you get an
aftermarket chain master link make sure it has soft tips like the
Honda master links otherwise you have to use a special $100.00 tool
to pein it on.
The only other pistons I cound that were similar to N600 are 1993 Geo
Metro. Exact same size and dimensions except you will have really low
compression. Instaed of convex they are concave!
If you want to make comments like the brake pads will match up
exactly then please get us the part number to anything that will
match up. I spend hours researching parts that will fit Honda 600's
from other cars. I sell alot of them in my eBay store.
Carb Kits are easy and you don't have to order each oring
individually. Just get on to eBay and buy a kit for a 1975 Honda
GL1000. Most of the orings will work as well as the inlet needle but
Not the seat. Hole is too small just like Bruce in Nevada City would
say. You will drive along for awhile and then die. Will start again,
then Die. The float bowl gasket is useable as well just chop off the
wings that stick out.
So how many people would attend a Honda meet at my house this year if
I had it say in May or June? I am nearto Santa Cruz Calif. I used to
have one yearly and would alternate with Bruce Dewing in Santa Clara.
The last meet I had the Brothers B&B came down from Washington State
and the guy with the stretched race sedan came down from Chico Ca.

wow that was a mouth full Ya know the front break pads are the same as honda motorcycles take one in and they will match it up right there also you can get caliper rebuild kits that match If you have the time you can measure and match master cylinder rebuild kits but I just like putting a master cylinder from a 1993 chevy GEO you have to do a little adapting and some grinding but it's cheep get one at the junk yard with fluid container for $15.00 OK SO REMEMBER NONE OF THIS IS CORRECT IT IS ALL LIES THERE IS NO CROSS OVER FROM A MOTORCYCLE, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!! IT IS JUST WISH FULL THINKING, IT WILL NEVER WORK

Hi I made a mistake it is not "K & N" thats the air filter people for motorcycles and cars my blow it SORRY !
it's "K & L" they sell after market parts for the motorcycle industry Damm it I get those 2 "k's" mixed up. They will not sell to you direct you would have to go to a motorcycle shop that has a "K & L " distributor ( most do call and ask) or there are out lets through the internet but they try to really jack the price up I made the statement that that 600's were designed from a 1968 honda 450 CB motorcycle and that some things were the same WRONG statement TO MAKE!

Re: how to contact aliens
Sure it will. I used to commute to Sacramento for school in my AN600. Done it hundreds of times.
Miles, count me in too.

Carb Orings
I forgot to mention if you buy individual orings at a bearing/oring
supplier. Viton is preferred, Nitrile is secondary. Buna will get
destroyed by the gasoline, they expand and absorb the fuel.
