I bought the last 30 tools Honda had in stock 10 years ago. They were cheap, only $2.92 each. When I sold out of those I bought 12 feet of hex tool steel that had 1" bolt size - you would use a 1" socket on the tool.
The machinist made me a run out of the first bar (6') for aprox. $5.00 ea. He broke a bunch of double sided triangular carbide cutters and said he wouldn't make any more. Years went by and I sold out. I went back to the same guy and he made me another run but raised the price to $9.00 ea. I sold out again.
I think it would be sufficient to use the CRS 1" hex stock as there is nothing holding on the flywheel besides the taper. Please don't use a 2 or 3 arm puller to remove your rotor, you will pull the starter ring gear off. I also wouldn't heat the rotor area as the commutator for the brushes is on that end and there is resin coated wires on the back of the rotor.
Honda made a holding tool that was supposed to be used with the original puller. I have one, but also have made one in the past. I gifted mine to Bill many years ago. I made it when I worked as a machinist. The way I get the flywheel off when it's in the car is simple. I clamp a large vice grip to the flywheel down in the starter cavity. Thread the tool in until it stops then use a 1/2" drive breaker bar & socket of correct size. Nothing difficult about it. Alternately if the engine is out I use an air impact with a socket.
When you are removing the 17mm bolt from the end of the crankshaft you can hold the pulley from turning by using a 22mm open end wrench. Mark the pulley before you remove it, it will go on either way but only time one way.
Do not submerge the flywheel or stator in Oil Eater or in Castrol cleaner or the like. I left a stator in my tank for a week, thought it would be ok, but all the insulation was gone when I took it out. Instant junk !
