Has anyone adjusted the pinion nut and bolt on the steering rack with all the engine components attached? I have a 1971 AN 600 and I need help to loosen the pinion nut on the steering rack. How many MMs is the flats of the nut? It looks like 24 mm to me but I can't get a straight shot at it, I'm trying to get at it from underneath with the cars front end jacked up. It looks like I may have to remove the cooling fan/ shroud assy. to get more room around the nut. It looks like a 3/8' drive flex ratchet with the right sized socket would sneak in to loosten it. I don't want to purchase those tools if it won't work.
