Rotors

Where can I buy new rotors for a 72 sedan? The ones I have are rusted and pitted.

I use 80 grit on a die grinder and re use them.

Thanks Bill. It seems like a grider would leave the surface pretty uneven, any tricks that might help it stay smooth?

Howdy
If I may say that you can take them to a"Advanced Brake Shop" They
will have no problem removing as much as you would like. Should only be about $15.00 ~ $20.00 for the 2. I would not chance it at "Mr Brake" or "Midias" as they will have no clue how to chuck em up, and not worth the risk of them killing the rotor.. Every city has a more full on brake / machine shop. While you are there check into sleaving your brake parts. Miles said he no longer is doing the fine brake repair.

You would be correct if it was grinding the disc, it is only removing the surface rust. So, unless you are overly aggressive there will not be a problem. In fact, a process used by many brake shops is to put a swirl on the disc with an 80 grit sand paper to quiet the pads.

Zay,
I think you are confused. I said I am not rebuilding master cylinders right now. There are no brake booster parts, so there's a hold on those too. There's no money in wheel cylinders - when sleeving alone costs $55.00 - I did it just for the fun. I still do Calipers - they are fun and don't need sleeved.
I have had good luck having brake rotors resurfaced by shops that surface flywheels. They lightly surface the flat side where the studs stick through, then surface the back then surface the front. The finish is excellent and maybe too smooth.
