this is really knot that hard.
Cars were built and shipped and sold and usually titled and licenced as such. So a car built in say 1/70 to 6/70 maybe titled as a 1970. And a car built in say 6/70 to 12/70 maybe titled as a 1971 because thy may have been sold in 1971. and so on. I have a 7/71 az that is titled as a 1974 because the dealer sold it in 1974 I have all the paper work on the car. I tryed to get the DMV to change it but thy wont. So who care lets get on to the next thing. How about some wheel adapters Kevin

In my 30 years experience with Honda 600's, A 1971 Coupe has a 5 piece rear bumper. A 1972 Coupe has a 3 piece rear bumper. Most Coupes were registered as a '72. It's not going to matter in Calif if it's reg'd as 71 or 72. If you want to get it changed to the actual year you would have to prove the difference and get it signed off by a car dealer. A car dealer in Calif can act as a DMV agent and perform Vin verifications etc. or at least my friend Darryl can, he's a Honda dealer.

Thank you for the replies. OK, I get the piture. It does not really matter if it's titled a 71 or 72.

My concern is when I eventually sell the car, if it might affect it's value--if it wasn't properly titled. Apparently it's not a big deal. I have the original window sticker that came on the car (no date)and wanted to keep all paper work in line.
