Brake booster

Post by Kevin Gailey »

Brake booster is shot, I know I can have it rebuilt, has anyone used a hydroboost from any other car? Or, the PBR VH40, but shipped from Australia.
Curious...

You can read all about brake boosters (or anything else) by searching the past messages. You will find all kinds of info and opinions on past postings.
But to answer immediately I don't know of any other *remote* boosters available. Most people will tell you just leave it off, not me of course, I like my brake boosters functional.

I looked up the unit you refer to, it looks pretty huge on the eBay listing from the seller. But then found this site:

Remember, anytime you change out a part on a Honda brake system, you will probably have to change the fittings on the end of the lines. When I replace the wheel cylinders in the rear of my Honda, I had to make up all new brake lines. This means you're going to have to learn to do double flares, if you don't already know.
