engine shroud

Any problem with removing these, at least temporarily?
Trying to trace oil leaks.

I looked into that when I converted my motor to an electric fan. When the car is standing still it will only draw air over the back corners of the cylinders. The side fins don't get the air movement over them when the shroud is not there. When the car is moving this is not a problem.

When I worked in a motorcycle shop we just placed a box fan in front of the
engine during testing. This is provided you are not driving the car during testing.
