Outside mirror glass replacement

I need a plan to take apart my mirror and replace the glass.
There is a flat head screw on the back of the mirror that won't budge..soak it in wd?..advice?

I did not take my outside mirror apart to repair the mirror glass. I simply took the mirror off the car, brought it to the glass shop that does, among other things, car window replacement for insurance claims, and they put new mirror glass in. Cost about $15 as I recall.
The screw on the back sets the spring tension inside the housing to keep the mirror positioned where you want it. When mine broke, that assembly was visible from the front side "looking through" the mirror, which was no longer there. You should be able to WD40 it from the mirror side after the mirror pieces are removed.
