Hello Bill,Could you tell us the best way to replace the fan belt on
a 600,I mean getting the belt hooked around the fan shieve?

there is a mounting nut on the pullies. losen that and
you will have enough slack

Hi there,
First off allow your self a little time. After
the old fan bet has been removed make a bend in the new
belt and push it into the opening to the fan housing.
Thats the easy part. I have found that by pushing the
belt into the housing until it is against the oppisite
wall and then gently pulling it back out I am able to
get it into the fan pulley. Keep your bend large as this
will improve your chances of getting it into the
pulley. I should mention that when you are slowly
pulling the belt out pull towards the rear of the
engine. This drags the belt across the pulley which is
towards the front of the housing. Sometimes it would
take a few tries but eventually I would get the belt
into the pully. Once the belt is in the pulley keep
some tension on it until you have it around the other
two pulleys. When you feel your frustration level
increase go have a soda and relax a bit. Then try it
again. D.V.
