25 years ago when I running a Z600 I had the same problem. It took all
kinds of pedal pressure to release the clutch. The cable was ok and the
pivots were ok. I finally made a simple attachment that replaced the
release arm on the clutch cover. It was made of strap iron and was a new
and shorter release arm and a second piece that relocated the pivot point in
closer. It made the clutch pedal pressure to about 1/2 of what it was. It
did require the full pedal movement to disengage the clutch.. It was
simple to make and lessened the load on me and the clutch cable.. Can not
find any photos of it. It been a while but if desired I think I could draw
a diagram of what I made.

Subject: help, clutch problem....
I have just purchaced a z600, 1972. The clutch has an extremely hard
pedel. It functions fine, just hard to use. Any sugestions out there
would be appreciated.
