Yea know Miles;
I use JB weld to keep all slipper pins in place. And, removing the pin
later was not all that hard. It's an extra step, but keeps that bit of
aluminum a loose pin grinds away, from working its way into the bearings.
Another area that causes a lot of problems and is almost never corrected is
the primary and secondary transmission shaft bearing keepers. Both on the
small and large bearings. The large bearing keepers on the clutch side
always seem to wear. However the other large bearing keeper doesn't. I
find that replacing them helps to keep the thrust washer and oil pump rod
from premature wear.
