Re: [2cylinderhondas] scanned in another article

I know of 8 Hondamatic 600 cars in the world.  1 in England, 2 in Netherlands, 1 in New Zeland, 2 in Australia,  2 in the USA.  Of the two in USA, one is in Torrance as Matt has said.  It's at the Honda headquarters garage along with a 1972 Coupe.  I have the other one.   Numbers begin with A 600 instead of N 600 and seem to have advanced into the two thousand four hundred range.  The detuning of the engine brought into the USA made them gutless and although they were to be offered none were sold.  Research shows that Honda did not set up dealerships with the tools or equipment to service them.  My Hondamatic was a test vehicle which has been documented by Honda.  It came with engine number 5000035 and the chassis, body along with electrical as well as suspension items differ vastly from the Honda 600's sold.  The rear drums are smaller than production AN600's.  The power booster is mounted on the back of the left front head light.  The master cylinder is like the one used on the S800 and the spair tire is mounted under the hood instead of behind the rear bumper. Very few are left, which makes them very hard to restore correctly.  But it is progressing.
