If you go to the tuner shops the 66 - 69 maybe 72 DATSUN small pickup has had a lot of after market shocks. The front shocks will bolt in (but you have to remove the cross plate with bolt holes. The VW shocks have to be ground down on both sides of the lower mount and you have to flatten the body seam about 2.5 inches. Stiff, yep. loose teeth will fall out, but after a month or so you will enjoy the better truning (less body roll) capablility it gives.
