How can I get my hands on a new oil pump screen?
I thought I could use the one from the second motor I
had, but I found today that most of the parts had been
stripped.
I'm in need of a new screen or even an oil pump
assembly. Preferable with no metal bits attached.
While I have your attention, any suggestions on cleaning
up wheel rims. Should I have them media blasted to clean
up rust? What would you recommend for finish?
thank you

Oil pump Screen
Re: Oil pump Screen
Milos -
For my sedan wheels (not mag wheels, but the steel wheels), I took the
four best wheels I had to a welding and sandblasting business and had
them sand blasted, as most of them had a sufficient amount of rust.
When I picked them up, they looked great, except that the rust was so
bad on one of them, the sandblasting process actually blew a hole
through the wheel where the rust had made it very thin. As for
coatings, I highly recommend powdercoating for it's durability and
appearance. I, however, decided to just go to AutoZone and buy a can
of silver wheel paint and a can of wheel clear coat. I applied a few
dry coats of the silver paint to the wheels then a few coats of clear.
The finish doesn't look as great as powdercoating, but the wheels
look so much better than before. I plan to eventually get a set of Z
wheels and have them stripped and powdercoated for my sedan. I'll try
to get some pictures taken of the wheels I just did.
