I am trying to sort out some dash electrical issues on my N600 and it
may be easier if I can get the panel out. My manual says to remove
three screws then lift the panel out from the bottom then slide a lever
over, does this sound right?
I "think" I have found the screws but they look like a real pain to get
at, especially the one by the speedo, anyone else done this and maybe
have some suggestions?

I think your making to much of a project out of this.
Your electrical problems can't be that hard that the dash has to be removed. The instrument panel can be removed with 80% if the wires right there. Remove the radio and you have lots of room. You have to do these things anyway. Unless rats made a meal of your wires, I think you would have a much better chance of correcting your problem with all the wiring in place.

Yes, that is what I asked about, the panel and not the dash board.
I have the radio out and I can see in behind the speedo, but I need
to get at the cluster with the fuel gauge in it this is a little more
difficult to get at and if I could pull the panel out some then this
would make it easier to get at.

Mike,
Would it help to be able to remove the speedometer gauge? The speedometer can be removed by
holding on to the outer edge and pulling on it. You could also disconnect the cable at the speedometer
and then push it out from inside the dash. It isn't bolted in place and once removed will let you see the inside and figure out how to remove whatever else interests you.
If does pull out but it may take a little wiggling to get it started. Once out, you will see the spring tabs along the edge which keep it from falling out while driving.

The insturment gauge cluster and speedometer pop out without removing the panel. Just make sure you watch not to bugger up the plastic.

And, don't forget to look in the Coupe manual, it really is the suplement to the Sedan manual, containing all the up dated carb and later transmissions that were used by both the sedan and coupe.
Steve has spent a great deal of time and effort to bring these items to you with little more than a click.
Even now after many years of woking on these small cars I refer to the shop manuals to refresh my memory. The cost of printing this out for your own use is less than a ream of paper with your computer's printer you will have a working copy.

His manuals explain why I am having trouble, I guess I have
the "deluxe" panel with the two seperate gauge pods, I was looking at
the instructions for the regular panel in my Haynes manual. Going
through Steve's manual I would have to remove the whole dash assembly
to get that panel out, there was the confusion with my post about
removing it.

Hi Mike,
In an earlier post you mentioned you were having electrical wiring problems.
I have found the two areas which seem to be the most likely culprit for wiring problems
in the dash to be (1) the connections at the fuse box, and (2) the ignition switch. If the resistance
of either of these two items becomes too high, the car experiences problems. With the fuse box,
check that it is not becoming hot when you have all the accessories (engine on, headlights on, heater on)
are on. You can also measure the voltage across each of the fuses at the connector clips. If you are able to see a voltage, you have a problem. Also check for corrosion at the plating on the clips and where the wire lugs connect to the fuse box. The ignition switch can also develop significant resistance which creates too much voltage drop.
Again, measure the voltage as it enters and leaves the switch. If you see a voltage drop across the switch, you have a problem.

Also, look at the parts manuals, they carry the blow-up views of the cars and all the parts. Really helps to see the internals before taking things apart.
