roof rack

hi group,
last night on american pickers the two guys went to a garage filled with old motorcycles.  In the back ground i noticied an n600 with a roof rack. did they make these for a z coupe as well?  is there any out there?

I noticed it too, the never focused on the car but the bulge in the hood seemed to look different, maybe it was a N360? The owner has spent some time in Japan and the mirrors were on the front fenders, maybe he brought it back with him? Too bad they didn’t show more of it or ask about it.

its a shame they didn't focus on the car at all.  only the motorcycles. the rack looked very similar to the ones the old volkswagen beetles had.  maybe he made one fit?  or maybe honda had it as an option?  anyways-does anyone out there have a roof rack for a z600 or n600?

I built a wood rake for mine in 72 and I think I checked if honda had one.  seems to me they did not have anything for the honda.  but I may be wrong.  I ended up using a rain gutter rack and than put a wood box on top.

According to the accessories pamphlet, for Sedans only.  Order number 51286.  Photos on page 3 and 4 of "Drive into the World of Honda Accessories".  I'll watch the show and see if it's Honda official (and I doubt it).
Just for yucks, ask the parts department if it's in stock.  Every once in a gazillion years, some dealer returns unused inventory for credit, and it becomes available.

Honda had two different acks Part number 08103-53800 called a Roof Carrier, and 08117-53800 called a Ski Carrier there was also a deflector top that was a hard shell that fit over the roof between the rack and the roof area giving it more resiliancy to weight.  It was listed as an assembly with bolts and suction cups to hold it in place.  Part number 71152-538-810.

hey group,
for the heck of it, I stopped by a honda dealer and gave them the part numbers for the roof rack and ski rack.  They were still in the Honda system.....but unavailable.  Surprise right?  anyways the roof rack was $53 and the ski rack was $23.  Sounds to me it's been many years since they were produced.
