Coupe - No spark, trying again

I am trying again to get my coupe running. I was working on it last fall and determined I am not getting spark. Any suggestions / experiences are of help.
The clue is that the Coupe was running fine just before I bought it, and then nothing. It turns over fine. Here's what I have tested/tried:
-I cleaned and applied dielectric grease to all grounds, connections, and terminals.
-I have power to the coil, and at the points, and they are opening and closing. Gap is correct. No burning or pitting.
-The primary and secondary coil resistance measures perfectly in the range as was told to me by this group last fall. I even have a spare coil that I tried.
-The condenser measures at the perfect capacitance rating.
-The engine is properly grounded, as is the car frame.
-I even operated the points by hand, grounding and un-grounding the blue wire to the coil, and nothing.
-I have checked and double checked that everything around the points is hooked up correctly, and nothing is grounded that shouldn't be.
Any ideas what I am missing? My next step is to start replacing parts, but I am hesitant because everything checks out.
I'm stumped. Fairly simple system, so doubly frustrating.

Bad rotor? Distributor cap? Bad coil?

Elias;
Check the spark with a spark plug attached just laying on the engine and see if there is spark.  Remember that both spark plug leads need to be attached to a spark plug for the system to work.  If that doesn't work, go through the timing sequence again, pull a plug and see if the pistons are at the top when the mark is at top dead center.  Using a scribe you can feel the top of the piston through the spark plug hole.  Put a 12 V lamp between the blue wire to the distributor and see when it goes out while watching the timing mark pass the F mark on the stator cover.   If these work then it's not electrical.

That's where I am thinking now - something happened with the timing. I've ruled out everything else.

Success. Today after much effort my long dormant Coupe started and ran. A friend and former 600 owner was generous enough to lend a hand. What was the problem? We aren't completely sure. Lots of little things: points gap was off, timing was a little off. I hooked up everything with an individual lead and ground directly from the battery and got spark on both plugs. There was some sparking where the battery grounds to the engine so it's possible the ground wasn't secure there. It took quite of bit of cranking and some starting fluid but the car started and ran. The ensuing smoke brought to light the numerous exhaust leaks. But the car sounded great - it was the first time I had heard a running 600.
