ignition switch woes

My Z600 ignition switch requires repair or replacement. It works fine but there is no spring return from the "START" position, so that it will stay in that position, with the starter engaged unless I manually return the switch to the "ON" position.
1) Does anyone have an NOS or good used replacement ignition switch to sell or give to me. I am happy to pay a fair price or to return the favor or trade for other parts.
2) Does anyone have a source to reccommend where to purchase this ignition switch?
3) Please provide detailed instructions on how to remove the ignition switch and advise whether any special tools are necessary.
4) Is there a way to repair or replace the return spring int the start position of my old switch?

Chas,
I also have a bad ignition switch. It does not even go to the start position, but it does go to the "ON" position. I decided to not fix the ignition switch, and I added a push-button for the starter down next to the hazard lights switch. It's not easy to see, and so I feel like it adds a small amount of theft deterrence.
I don't know if that is a solution you would consider, but it worked really well for me.

Chas, The switch is removable from the lock assy. It is held on with 2 screws. The first gen. Civic switches are the same and are a little easier to come by. The wire colors are different, so you will have to read them out with a meter to know which one does what. The spring return is in the switch section, not the lock.

You may have ruled this out already, but if you are using a poorly cut key (duplicate from a locksmith) it might causing a binding condition. Of course you can test with the/another key.  Just a thought.
