N600 sedan - rear engine mount

Dropped the engine and subframe assembly yesterday and found the rear engine mount completely torn. It appears this is not uncommon.
Does anyone rebuild these with new rubber? Or does anyone have one with ‘ok’ rubber?

Tim Mings had NOS rear motor mounts 3 or 4 years ago when I needed one.

I will try it myself but if I mess it up I might ask for your services.

Hi Greg;
Yes, RTV coming out of the tube is an alternative but you know how well that
stuff sticks and your not doing anything to promote adhesion or to catalyze
the RTV going into the mount housing. RTV doesn't create heat, so if the
original rubber is failing at the ends then squirting an adhesive (which is
what RTV is) around it doesn't last. I found that placing a strip of 1/4
in. rubber on top of the Tung and below it with the RTV helped to add
strength to the RTV as it had something hard to take the jarring effects of
the engine. Here too, the RTV had to be replaced after a while because it
wasn't strong enough to keep the metal Tung on the Rear Engine mount from
slowly pushing the rubber out. Figure RTV has the hardness of a rubber
band. The product I use has the hardness of a rubber shoe heel. It has
some give, but not like a rubber band.
