I saw a couple of set-up's like this and they seemed to put a real draw on the engine, plus they used the fan belt and with that excluded the fan. Looked like two strikes on the power plant for not much affect. I have several use crank shafts and none show to have a magnetic crank anywhere but the stator shaft. That doesn't mean that a magnetic field couldn't develop when the engine is running. But then we would find metal chips around the seal on that end. And, I have never found that to be true either.
On the other hand, no fan and increased power draw on the end of the shaft seems like it would cause the engine to over heat.
Just my thoughts.
